Yeah it's nice, but is it knee length?
Sure is nice, but is it nearly as long as it needs to be?
It is knee length, is it knee length, breadth and width?
Are you with it? Is it knee length?
It comes as a crushing blow if you're going away.
My senses fail, leave a smell in a potpourri.
How will I know where to go if you don't lead me that way?
What I could learn in a day, I'll just forget anyway.
All I know, is it's nice but is it knee length?
Sure is nice, but is it knee length.
It comes as a crushing blow if you're going away.
My senses fail, leave a smell in a potpourri.
How will I know where to go if you don't lead me that way?
What I could learn in a day, I'll just forget anyway.
All I know, is it's nice but is it knee length?
It might be nice, but is it knee length.

I know you've been on the receiving end
Of our friend the comedian
But we don't find it funny anymore
It hurts me personally and deeply
To know you were completely put down on the spot but,
We don't find it funny anymore
That there is the lowest common denominator
Why should it matter to you?
You don't need flattery too
And that there really shouldn't be bothering you
Or be smothering you or giving your life a commentary too
I know he wants to be a comedian
Well feel free my friend
Laughter is not a guarantee
And it pains me, oh it pains me deeply
To think that I naively
Shared a joke with you before
I don't find it funny anymore
We all like a laugh but does it have to be at someone's expense
We like a laugh but does it have to be at someone
I know its you who's come out worse off
All of your Bunsen's burnt off
And the classroom is laughing at you
It kills me, it nigh on destroys me
And what annoys me is
I don't know what any of its for,
But, I don't find it funny anymore
That there is the lowest common denominator
Why should it matter to you?
You don't need flattery too
And that there really shouldn't be bothering you
Or be smothering you or giving your life a commentary too
We all like a laugh but does it have to be at someone's expense.
We like a laugh but does it have to be at someone
I know you've been on the receiving end
Of our friend the comedian
But we don't find it funny anymore

Nobody says 'I don't want anything to do with you', not properly, honestly
Probably for a reason, probably for the best
And nobody says 'Those things you said, they hurt my feelings', properly, honestly
Probably for a reason, probably for the best
I don't see a reason, I don't hear a rhyme and I don't see any fault of mine,
not properly, honestly
Probably for a reason, probably for the best
Nobody says 'Those things you said, they went to your head', not properly, honestly
Probably for a reason, probably for the best
And nobody admits they don't have enough money for things, not properly, honestly
Probably for a reason, probably for the best
But I want you to realise these situations that we're faced with are not situations to get hung on. They're beneath you and they're beneath me.
not properly, honestly
Probably for a reason, probably for the best
Nobody says 'I don't want anything to do with you', not properly, honestly
Probably for a reason, probably for the best
Nobody says what they want to and nobody guessed what's eating you and nobody does what they want to on a day they choose and it's probably for the best
not properly, honestly
Probably for a reason, probably for the best

I'm giving up on unhappiness, you ought to do the same
Out with the old dead unhappiness are you going to slit your wrists? No you're not, so you better get a grip.
I'm giving up on unhappiness, you ought to do the same
Out with the old dead unhappiness are you going to find a vein? No you're not, so you better break the chain.
I'm giving up on unhappiness, you ought to do the same
Out with the old dead unhappiness are you going to cut your throat? No you're not, so you're tearing up that note from the doctor, you're tearing up that note
